Dermatologists have warned about the dangers of too much sun exposure that can result in premature wrinkles and loose neck skin. According to Mothernature.com, in your 20s accumulated sun damage may cause skin across your forehead to wrinkle, and in your 30s it may wrinkle between your eyes. By age 40, crow's feet appear, and by age 50, wrinkles will have started at the corners of your mouth. Your skin will grow thinner, drier and less elastic with time--mostly due to a dwindling supply of connective tissue and estrogen that begins in the 40s. The result can be loose neck skin. Thankfully, there are proven ways to slow down that ticking time clock without surgery.
Many doctors believe that anaerobic and strength training exercises can slow down the appearance of wrinkles and sagging neck skin. They also believe that exercise boosts the collagen levels in the body. Collagen is the connective tissue underneath the outer layers of the skin that decreases with age. Along with exercise, many experts recommend drinking a lot of water to keep the cells hydrated.
Vitamin A as well as Retin-A are recommended by dermatologists in the United States and Canada to stave off sagging neck skin. Other skin professionals recommend the use of a combination of shea butter, glycolic acid and Vitamin C to firm and tone the skin. Alpha hydroxy acid is also used to firm and tighten the skin.
Most adults, and especially women, do not get enough rest daily. Not only is more rest recommended but how you sleep is most important in that fight to avoid loose neck skin. To assist in that fight, the American Dermatological Association recommends that adult women should sleep on their backs to avoid the creasing to the face that occurs from sleeping on the side or stomach. It is also recommended that women eat dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is high in flavonoids which have a a positive affect on skin.
Eat fatty fish such as salmon and other seafood with high omega-3 content to fight off loose neck skin. Also add flaxseed and avocados to your weekly diets.
