Select a variety of Ukrainian music to play during class. Music helps students to learn pronunciation and grammar. Provide each student with a copy of lyrics with which to sing along. One of the primary benefits of playing music is that each song has a limited number of words and phrases. If a student has difficulty with a certain concept or idea, he may find the tune of music useful as a way to remember.
Assign a Ukrainian language textbook to each member of your class. Some textbooks come with a pronunciation CD or video as a supplement to the text, as well as vocabulary lists. Review key portions of the text during class periods and assign a portion of the text each night as reading homework for students. If your textbook does come with supplemental media, encourage students to review it at their convenience.
Provide each student with a set of flash cards to review daily. Encourage students to carry their flash cards and review them as frequently as possible. In addition to new vocabulary words, flash cards should include important phrases and key grammatical structures.
Watch Ukrainian movies in class. Ukrainian films provide students a way to practice their listening skills. During the film, have students write down any words or phrases they have difficulty understanding. When the movie is over, take a few minutes to review and answer each student's question.
