What score do you need to pass the GED?

The GED (General Educational Development) test is scored on a scale of 200-800, with 450 being the minimum score required to receive a GED certificate. The test consists of four subjects: Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. Each subject test is worth 200 points, and the overall score is the average of the four subject test scores.

To pass the GED, you must earn a minimum of 450 points on the overall test and a minimum of 300 points on each of the four subject tests. If you do not pass all four subject tests on your first attempt, you can retake the tests that you did not pass until you earn a score of 300 or higher on each subject.

The GED test is designed to assess your knowledge and skills in the four major academic areas that are essential for success in college and the workplace. By passing the GED, you will demonstrate that you have the academic skills and knowledge necessary to pursue further education or enter the workforce.
