Are there more of Latin or Greek in English?

While both Latin and Greek have significantly influenced English, Latin has contributed far more words than Greek.

The vast majority of English vocabulary derived from classical languages comes from Latin, directly or indirectly through French and other Romance languages. Greek influence is substantial, particularly in scientific and technical terminology, but is quantitatively smaller than Latin's impact.
