Creating a sign that showcases the future of the student is a great way to welcome the student to her graduation celebration. Find a picture or scene of the university, school or job that the student will be moving on to after graduation. Blow up the picture and superimpose a photo of your student onto the scene. You can do this by using Photoshop or another photo-editing program on the computer. You can also physically cut and paste a photo on top of another photo and then copy. The picture will show others where the graduate is going and also show your support of her choices.
Create a memory collage of your graduate throughout the years. If you have pictures of kindergarten graduation or any minor steps toward his big day, include those. Baby pictures, school pictures from middle school or anything fun that shows his progression are good things to include. You can paste these on a poster board or have them blown up onto a poster.
If your graduate has a special place -- the football field, the local theater or the beach -- consider creating a sign that uses this place personally. Go to the location with huge letters that spell out "Congratulations" and the graduate's name. Set up the letters and take a picture of them from above or far away, depending on the locale. Print this picture on a huge poster at a local printing shop, and you will have a personalized and original graduation sign.
Create a smaller sign on which guests can sign in when they get to the party. The front of the sign should have the graduate's name on it along with year of graduation and school. Include a picture if you wish. On the back of the sign, invite party attendees to sign their names and give any advice about life after graduation. This is a sign the graduate can take with him and cherish as he begins his new life.
