What is the role of a conciliator?

A conciliator is a neutral third party who helps disputing parties reach an agreement. The role of a conciliator is to facilitate communication between the parties, help them identify the issues in dispute, and develop options for resolving the conflict. Conciliators do not have the authority to make decisions for the parties, but they can help the parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement.
