Understand that the University of South Florida Department of Housing offers three styles of living: suite-style, traditional-style and apartment-style.
Check out "Cypress Apartments" if you are a student that prefers apartment-style living. This university apartment complex is the newest of its style on campus, and because it has only been around for a few years, is more up to date and clean. This apartment offers single-person bedrooms in four-person apartments, meaning that the students will share the kitchen, living room and bathroom but still have privacy. This apartment is reserved for first-year students.
Check out "Cypress Hall." Like the apartment mentioned in the previous step, this "Cypress" is the newest of its kind in terms of suite-style living quarters on campus. This dormitory houses 300 students in two separate, but connected, five-story buildings. This style of living is suite-style, meaning that four students live in two separate rooms connected by one common bathroom. One of the buildings in "Cypress Hall" is just for honors students, but the other building is open to any student.
Check out "Beta Hall" if you are interested in traditional college living. Of those two traditional-style dorms on campus, "Beta" was renovated in the early 2000s and offers newer amenities. This dorm is recommended because it offers a unique experience for those first-year students that are eager to meet fellow students and experience everything that college has to offer. Traditional-style living basically means that residents live in private bedrooms in a common hallway and have to use a common bathroom.
