Open the "Notes" application on your iPod Touch/iPhone. Then, press the plus sign in the upper-right corner to add a note.
Type in key points from assigned textbook readings or lectures. Using acronyms and abbreviations can be helpful if you're accustomed to text messaging.
Add a title at the top of each page according to subject and topic. Revise and organize notes in a manner suited to your reading preferences. Notes are saved automatically upon exiting the application. Therefore, all that is left to do is review the notes prior to each exam.
Open the "Voice Memos" application when a lecture has started and press "Record." When you're finished recording, simply press "Stop." You can also use this application to read key points from textbooks aloud, as well as record any idea that pops into your head.
Trim each recording by tapping the "Trim Voice Memo" button. You will see a blue bar representing the entire memo, as well as an overlapping yellow bar. You'll then be able to edit the recording by simply sliding the overlapping yellow bar over areas you'd like to trim.
Organize each memo by selecting labels from a predefined list, or create your own custom label.
Study for exams by opening the "Voice Memos" application and selecting the specific recording you'd like to listen to. The recording will play automatically.
