One of the most significant religious celebrations I observe is Diwali, often known as the "festival of lights." Diwali is a Hindu festival that epitomizes the triumph of light over darkness. It commemorates the return of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Vishnu, along with his wife Sita and brother Laxman, to their kingdom Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. The celebration goes on for five days, beginning with Dhanteras, the worship of Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity. Houses and temples are adorned with diyas (traditional oil lamps), marigold garlands, and intricate rangoli patterns to welcome Lord Rama and banish darkness and negativity. Family members and friends gather together for feasts, exchange gifts, and indulge in fireworks and sweets.
