Restore confidence in yourself that you can make a change:
College is a tremendously important time to focus on your grades. Just because you may have had bad grades in high school there is no reason you can't improve upon your grades in college. I did so and I will tell you how.
Sit in front row:
There are a variety of methods to improve upon bad grades. First you must sit in the front row. This is very important. You become more involved in the conversations and remember more as a result. You also remain focused, have no one blocking your view, and your professor will remember you and think of you as a person who wants to succeed.
Stay on top of class work:
It is important to do your work and reading as soon as you get back from class. It will be fresh in your mind. You must read the chapters and take notes. Taking notes will make you remember and able to participate in class. Your notes will also be essential for studying for tests.
Break up your work into parts:
When papers are due break up your work and do it ahead of time. Do not wait until the last minute. If you have a 5 page paper make an outline first then write a page a night or something that makes sense.
Find an appropriate study location:
Always study where you will not be distracted. Remain focused and remember that getting good grades is about putting in time and effort. If you put in the effort to improve your bad grades in college you will get positive results.
