Read through these notes and see if you can identify a few key themes. Take a clean sheet of paper and use this to write down your themes. Again, check the essay title and make sure you are addressing it.
Write a rough outline of your essay. Begin with an introductory paragraph and end with a concluding paragraph. Also concentrate on the middle of the essay, which is the figurative filling in the sandwich. Begin your essay with a strong sentence or two. Support your statements or arguments with evidence. Clarify any vague or difficult points. Do not use long, convoluted sentences and avoid repeating yourself. Ask someone you trust to proofread your essay as it is easier for an objective pair of eyes to spot errors or lack of flow. Aim to segue between sections of your essay smoothly. Write a strong conclusion, referring back to the introduction and drawing your arguments together.
