Georgia Tech has a well established aerospace engineering program that in 2010 was ranked second by US News & World Reports. Students earn a Bachelor's of Science degree while attaining an in-depth understanding of the mechanics of aeronautic engineering. A combustion laboratory, machine shop and wind tunnel add to students learning opportunities and provides hands-on experience. Once admitted, students seeking a more challenging route can apply to the honors program. Once they earn their bachelor's, honor students are automatically admitted into the university's graduate program and are expected to perform advanced research as a part their coursework.
