Make an annotated bibliography to keep notes on each article you think is acceptable for the doctoral review.
Review sources offered in each article. Scholarly articles written by other PhDs are often the best choice. Other articles written by qualified individuals may also be acceptable for your doctoral review.
Read the article thoroughly to ascertain its purpose and focus. Jot down notes as you read it for later use.
Analyze and interpret data within the article to determine whether it supports or fails to support your hypothesis. Do not change your hypothesis just because a particular article cannot prove your point.
Identify additional information in each article to read for further research. Create a strategy for finding these other resources.
Determine for yourself if the data presented in an article presents a reasonable conclusion. Always do your own research; do not accept other people's conclusion on face value alone.
