List of MBA Specializations

The master of business administration (MBA) is a popular graduate degree program for students interested in the world of business. Most MBA programs allow students to specialize in a particular area of business, increasing their marketability upon graduation and allowing them to pursue their special interests.
  1. Marketing

    • A marketing specialization focuses on how a company sells its products or services. Students taking a specialization in marketing learn about marketing strategies, management, leadership skills and communication. Some schools teach students about international marketing as well.

    Finance

    • A finance specialization deals with money -- a company's finances. Students in finance courses learn about methods of handling money, money management and the consequences of inappropriate management of money. Finance careers can range from working in the stock market as a trader to researching investments for a company. Some schools combine finance with economics because the subjects are closely related.

    Entrepreneurship

    • A specialization in entrepreneurship teaches students about starting a new company, expanding a company and innovation within a company. Students learn skills such as recognizing an opportunity, evaluating a potential opportunity for profitability and exploiting the opportunity to create a new business or expand an existing business.

    Human Resources

    • Human resources specialists learn how to manage the employees of a company. Students learn about structuring employee compensation packages, dealing with employee complaints, job analysis, performance appraisal and new employee training.
