How to Get Kicked From Pledging

Pledging to a fraternity can be a time-consuming and unpleasant experience. Many pledges go through a hazing ritual that involves performing grunt work in the frat house and taking part in embarrassing activities. If you have been pledging for a few days and decide the fraternity is not for you, you can walk away at any time. Getting kicked from the pledge process is simple, but you should try to leave on the best terms possible to avoid future conflicts with fraternity members or friends.

Instructions

    • 1

Speak with fraternity leadership about your reasons for leaving. Frats cannot make improvements to the way they conduct their activities unless they know there is a problem.

    • 2

Set a timetable for leaving. If you are expected to help with a big project or event, do not leave the fraternity hanging without assistance. Complete your responsibilities before you leave.

    • 3

Alert whoever is in charge of your pledge activities as to what day will be your last. Giving advance notice and being respectful of fraternity tradition will help you walk away with a good reputation.

    • 4

Leave the pledge process on the day you stated and do not interfere with future activities.
