Find out what the nursing requirements are for your state. Contact your state nursing board to find out the requirements to become a registered nurse. The state board may be able to provide you with recommendations on the best online programs that will satisfy those requirements.
Research the different RN online programs. Review each of the college's website about the admission requirements, program requirements, tuition and fees, scholarships and completion time.
Enroll in courses that satisfy the RN program. You may need to take anatomy, physiology, chemistry, psychology, nutrition and microbiology. However, course requirements do vary by state.
Complete the internship. You will take this at an approved hospital or healthcare clinic. Depending on your state's requirements, the internship should take one to two years to complete.
Pass the state nursing exam. The NCLEX-RN is the final requirement after completing your online program and internship.
