Find a university that offers an accredited online program in Electrical Engineering. This first step is particularly important since accredited programs are recognized by other educational institutions as well as by potential employers. There are many online programs that offer degrees in this field, including DeVry University, ECPI and Drexel University.
Choose a sub-discipline to study. Electrical Engineering is a very broad field and often requires a more concentrated approach to your education. Your concentration will determine the more focused online classes you take as you further your instruction. Some of these sub-disciplines include Computer Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications.
Complete the required coursework as assigned by your university. Each institution has its own set of requirements when it comes to any degree.
