Distance Learning Biology Courses

The advantage of taking classes online is that you do not need to commute to a campus and you can work courses around your schedule. To enroll in a distance learning course you need access to a computer and the Internet. There are several colleges and universities across the United States that offer distance learning biology classes. The courses often require the same amount of work to complete as traditional classes taught on campus.
  1. Brookhaven College

    • Brookhaven College in Dallas offers the course Biology for Non-Science Majors both online and on campus. The class explores scientific problem solving and genetic information as it relates to cell life. There is no prerequisite for this course. The college also offers a Biology for Science Majors introductory course. Class topics include the function and structure of cells and molecular biology and genetics. It is recommended that students have completed a high school biology class before enrolling in this course. You can also meet this requirement by taking the Biology for Non-Science Majors class.

    University of North Carolina

    • A General Biology course is an online offering at the University of North Carolina. The course explores the molecular basis of biology.
