1. Eligibility
- The university must be located in a country that has diplomatic relations with Pakistan.
- The university must be recognized by the government of the country in which it is located.
- The university must offer a medical degree that is equivalent to the MBBS degree awarded by Pakistani universities.
- The university must have a teaching hospital that is recognized by the government of the country in which it is located.
2. Documents required
- A certified copy of the university's charter or articles of incorporation.
- A certified copy of the university's academic regulations.
- A list of the faculty members of the university, including their qualifications and experience.
- A list of the courses offered by the university.
- A copy of the university's examination results for the past five years.
- A statement from the university that its graduates are eligible for licensure in the country in which it is located.
- A statement from the university that it agrees to comply with the PMDC's regulations.
3. Evaluation process
- The PMDC will review the documents submitted by the university to determine if it meets the eligibility requirements.
- If the university meets the eligibility requirements, the PMDC will send a team of experts to visit the university to conduct an inspection.
- The team of experts will assess the university's facilities, resources, and academic programs.
- Based on the team of experts' report, the PMDC will decide whether or not to recognize the university.
4. Recognition status
- If the university is recognized by the PMDC, it will be listed on the PMDC's website.
- Graduates of recognized foreign medical universities will be eligible to apply for registration with the PMDC.

- The PMDC may also recognize foreign medical universities that are not located in countries with diplomatic relations with Pakistan. However, the process for recognition is more stringent for these universities.
