Radiology residency programs typically last for four years. During residency, physicians receive training in all aspects of radiology, including:
* Diagnostic imaging
* Interventional radiology
* Radiation therapy
* Nuclear medicine
* Medical physics
Residents also complete rotations in other medical specialties, such as internal medicine, surgery, and pediatrics. This allows them to learn how to use imaging techniques to diagnose and treat diseases in a variety of clinical settings.
After completing residency, radiologists are eligible to take the American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification exam. Once certified, radiologists can practice independently or join a radiology group.
Radiology is a challenging and rewarding medical specialty. Radiologists have the opportunity to use their skills and knowledge to help patients diagnose and treat diseases. They also play a vital role in the development of new imaging techniques and therapies.
