When was Whipps Cross University Hospital created?

Whipps Cross Hospital wasn't always a university hospital. It opened in 1870 as the Whipps Cross Infirmary. It became affiliated with Barts Health NHS Trust, which subsequently became linked with Queen Mary University of London, making it a teaching hospital (and effectively a university hospital) sometime later. There's no single date for the transition to "university hospital" status, as it's a result of the evolving relationships between NHS trusts and universities.
