Doctors degree and professors which is higher?

A professorship is generally considered higher than a doctorate.

While a doctorate (Ph.D., EdD, etc.) is a terminal degree showing advanced scholarship and research capabilities, a professorship is an *academic rank* requiring not only a doctorate but also significant experience, teaching ability, research productivity, and often administrative responsibilities within a university. You can have a doctorate without being a professor, but you cannot be a full professor without a doctorate (with very rare exceptions).
