How to Study Law in Australia

Law study at the university level in Australia is generally a four-year course offering an LLB, or bachelor of laws degree. This course is usually combined with another major, such as business or science, resulting in a dual degree. However, continuing education is vital when determining whether you will practice as a solicitor or a barrister, select a specialty or seek advancement in the field. Continuing education in the legal field takes two to three years, and awards a doctorate of law degree. To practice law in Australia, you must hold a Practicing Certificate.
