What Is a Graduate Course?

Graduate-level courses are those that are taken after graduating with a bachelor's degree. Most graduate classes are part of a masters- or doctorate-degree curriculum.
  1. Eligibility

    • Most universities require students to have completed a bachelor's degree before enrolling in graduate-level coursework. However, some universities allow students to dual enroll in graduate work while completing the bachelor's degree.

    Cost

    • Tuition for graduate courses is more expensive than tuition for undergraduate classes. In-state and out-of state tuition rates still apply to graduate coursework.

    Availability

    • Graduate courses are available at most four-year universities. However, not all graduate degree programs are offered at every university.
