Requirements for an MBA at Harvard

The MBA, or master of business administration degree, is one of the most popular graduate degrees. It is usually sought out by individuals looking to climb the ladder at their current workplace or by those who are looking for the skills to start and run their own businesses. If you are interested in obtaining your MBA from Harvard, there are several requirements you will need to meet to get into Harvard's MBA program.
  1. Undergraduate Degree

    • In order to get into Harvard's MBA program, you must have obtained an undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year undergraduate college, university or an equivalent program.

    GMAT or GRE

    • Prior to applying to Harvard's MBA program, you are required to have taken the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE.) Graduate programs use these tests to weigh the potential of a prospective student; this is similar to how undergraduate programs use the SAT and ACT tests to gauge their prospective students.

    Resume and Recommendations

    • In your application to Harvard's MBA program you are required to include your current resume and three recommendations from either former professors or professionals.

    Essay

    • Harvard also asks each prospective student to write an essay that outlines her accomplishments, what she has learned from her undergraduate studies and what she plans to get from attending Harvard's MBA program.
