Start planning for your admission process to West Point early in high school. Prepare with four years of rigorous college preparatory academics, exercise and strive to assume leadership roles in your extracurricular activities.
Schedule an admissions tour. You can choose an overnight or daily visit. If you have an open file with the school, you can book the tour online. Otherwise, you have to call the orientation coordinator to set up the tour by calling (845) 938-5760, extension 5759.
Read the prospectus online at the West Point website. Among other qualifications, you must have a superior high school grade point average, excellent SAT or ACT scores, pass their medical examination, score well on the fitness test and have a Congressional nomination to attend West Point.
Apply online at the West Point website. In order to apply you must be a U.S. citizen, be at least 17 but under 23 and not married, pregnant or have any legal obligation to any children.
