Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, is one college offering an accelerated degree program in the accounting field. In fact, Albright College has established its niche as a college that is both traditional and geared towards working adults. The accelerated programs are generally offered with the working adult in mind. The college offers a Bachelor of Science in Accounting that is a degree completion program, allowing students with prior general education courses to finish their education in as little as 17 months. Students take classes one night per week, completing the majority of the remaining work either online or through a collaborative group work outside of class. Each student must take 16 core accounting courses. Some of the areas covered by these courses include finance accounting, managerial accounting, accounting issues, advanced issues in auditing, advanced taxation and federal taxation.

Saint Joseph's College of Maine also offers an accelerated accounting degree program. This is an online degree program offering a Master of Accountancy. Saint Joseph's online programs are fully accredited by the New England Association of Colleges and Schools. The master's degree is a 36 credit hour program that is offered in a ten week course format. Students with a bachelor's degree in the field can waive six of these credit hours and complete the program even faster. Courses include financial accounting standards and analysis, international accounting, corporate financial management, taxation, auditing, accounting information systems and business law. At $825 per three hour course (as of the 2009-2010 academic school year), St. Joseph's College offers students an opportunity to obtain their accelerated degree for less than $10,000.

Post University also offers an accounting degree program in an online format. Post University is regionally accredited by the New England Association of Colleges and Schools. Post offers a Bachelor of Science in Accounting as well as a certificate program that prepares students for the professional CPA exam. Students can pursue eight week courses at Post with each course being offered multiple times each year for the student's convenience. The bachelor's degree program requires students to complete courses in areas such as principles of finance, quantitative analysis, business law, fraud prevention and examination and federal income tax law.
