Research colleges and universities. In order to obtain a degree and add B.A. to your name, you must find a school that offers the degree and learn its admissions procedures and criteria. The application process is fairly time-intensive and may require collecting references, obtaining test scores, drafting a resume, completing the personal information application sheet and writing an essay. While looking at schools, pay particular attention to standardized test score range requirements and the exams each institution accepts, so that you have a rough idea of how well you must do on the entrance exam.
Take the college entrance exam. Two college entrance exams are commonly accepted by colleges and universities: the SAT and the ACT. Some will take only the SAT or the ACT, while others will take both. Some schools may require you to take subject-specific exams such as the SAT II. You must know the school's requirements before applying.
Complete the application. When completing the application, be sure to carefully read and follow the instructions provided. Failure to comply with the instructions may cause the school to deny your application. When completing the application, select a degree that is a Bachelor of Arts program. Obtain the school's course catalog to ensure that the degree program for which you are applying is a B.A. program.
Successfully complete the required coursework and graduate. Once you have fulfilled the degree requirements and graduated, you can add B.A. to your name.
