Choosing a college is a challenging decision that takes careful planning and consideration.     • Boston College (BC), located on Chestnut Hill, is ranked number four in Massachusetts. Founded in 1852, Tufts offers a variety of medical programs, ranging from veterinary medicine to nutrition. The University of Massachusetts (UMASS), Amherst Campus is ranked sixth in Massachusetts. Founded in 1863, the large school closely resembles a small city, with a population of up to 50,000. Northeastern University, located in Boston, follows UMASS Amherst in the rankings. Founded in 1898, the school motto is "Light, Truth, Courage." The university is known for its five-year program that includes an internship program for undergraduates.

    • Wellesley College, located in Wellesley, is ranked in the eighth slot. Founded in 1870, Wellesley offers a variety of programs and majors, including education and fine, performing and communication arts. Worcester Polytechnic Institute, located in Worcester, follows Wellesley on the list. Rounding out the top 10 is Mount Holyoke College, located in South Hadley. The all-girls school was founded in 1837 and offers certificate degrees, bachelor's degrees and master's degrees in a variety of programs.
