How to Write a Lab Proposal

An effective lab proposal gives the reader a clear understanding of the objective of your research while describing the method, step-by-step, you will follow. It also lists the materials that you will need for your research and allows you to create an initial hypothesis, which should be based on reading and research that you have done. A lab proposal does not contain any actual experimental data, so the hypothesis you will come up with after the experiment may be quite different from the one you recorded on your initial lab proposal.

Instructions

Formulate a question: The lab proposal must have an objective, which should be rooted in a clearly stated question that can be scientifically answered.

    • 5

Formulate sketches of tables that you may need to record data gathered from the experiment.

    • 6
