How to Send Food Parcels

If you are the parent or grandparent of a young person who has finally left the nest and gone off to college, you will probably worry about her. In particular, you might worry about her getting enough to eat, since you might assume she is spending her money on trendy clothes and video games. To alleviate your concerns, you can send her a parcel package containing lots of goodies from home or from the local grocery store. However, if you are going to do this, you will want to do it in the right way, or your student might end up with crushed and broken tokens of affection, if she gets them at all.

Instructions

    • 1

Get the exact address for sending your package. If the campus has a post office, you might want to send the package to there general delivery so it can only be picked up by your student using ID, which reduces the chance that someone else will swipe it.

    • 2

Find out what sort of appliances or storage your student has. If she has her own apartment, this is easy, since you can safely assume it will have the usual amenities. However, if she lives in a dorm, you should confirm that she has access to a refrigerator or a microwave, since this will influence what you might send.

    • 3

Select the items you want to send. This might include things like chips, homemade cookies, caramel popcorn, candy, microwave popcorn, microwavable noodles and nuts.

    • 4

Pack your parcel, making sure that you provide sufficient packing materials to protect the contents. The heavier the contents, the more packing material you will need. Seal the package with heavy packing tape.

    • 5

Carefully address the package with both the sender and recipient addresses. Go to the post office, get your postage and mail your package.
