Rhinos, especially black rhinos, are easily provoked. Also known as the hooked-lip rhino, the black rhino is a native to the eastern and central parts of Africa. They mostly attack other species of animals that may invade their territories. They also fight among themselves over territory and female rhinos.
Commonly referred to as the king of the jungle, lions often fight for territory. In most cases, lions get into conflict with hyenas over territory. They may also fight among themselves when they feel their territory is being threatened by another group of lions. The reason why they defend their territory so violently is that they do not want to lose good hunting ground that provides them with enough prey.
Cheetahs are famous for their speed. They are the fastest land animals in the world and are among the best hunters. They prefer to hunt during the day, specifically at dawn and dusk. They are somewhat lazy as they only chase their prey for a few minutes. If it does not catch its prey, a cheetah gives up the chase. They are usually peaceful and rarely fight among themselves or other species. However, if their territory is threatened, they fight to protect it. Some of their common enemies in the savanna include hyenas, lions and leopards.
Sable antelope were once spread out across the savanna. However, they have been hunted down by predators and human beings and their numbers have reduced drastically. They are now only found in select parts of east, central and south Africa. The males in the herd are protective of the females in their territory. The males usually fight to prevent other males from trying to mate with the females in their territory.
