Inference. This is the ability to make logical guesses about what is happening in a book, even if it is not explicitly stated. For example, if a character in a book is running away from something, you can infer that they are scared.
2. Metacognition. This is the ability to think about your own thinking. For example, you can ask yourself: "Do I understand what I am reading? What is the main idea of this chapter? What does this word mean?"
