Who created the encyclopedia?
The encyclopedia as a form of literature dates back to the ancient Greeks. The first encyclopedia, in a modern sense, is often attributed to the French philosopher and writer Denis Diderot and his collaborators, who published the 35-volume Encyclopédie between 1751 and 1772. The Encyclopédie was a comprehensive and systematic compilation of knowledge, written by over 200 scholars and experts, covering various fields such as science, philosophy, literature, and art. It was a product of the Enlightenment period and aimed to disseminate knowledge to a broader audience.
