Jaishankar Prasad (1889–1937), also known as Jaishankar Prasad Tripathi, was a poet, playwright, novelist and story writer from India. He is considered to be one of the pioneers of modern Hindi literature and is regarded as one of the greatest poets of Hindi literature. He is also known as a playwright and his works have been translated into several Indian and foreign languages.

- In 1918, he was awarded the title of "Sahityaratna" by the Kashi Nagari Pracharini Sabha.
- In 1931, he was awarded the "Padma Shri" by the Government of India.
- In 1934, he was awarded the "D.Litt." by the Allahabad University.
- In 1936, he was awarded the "Sahitya Akademi Award" for his novel "Kamayani".
