Here's what we know:
* Early drafts: Wilder started writing stories about her childhood in the 1930s, after her husband Almanzo died.
* Writing with Rose: She collaborated with her daughter, Rose Wilder Lane, on the first book, "Little House in the Big Woods," and later on "The Long Winter" and "The First Four Years."
* Rosedale: They worked on many of the books at their home, Rosedale, in Mansfield, Missouri. This was her final home and where she lived for the majority of her writing career.
* Various locations: She also wrote while traveling to visit family and friends, and during the summer at a nearby lake cottage.
So, while Rosedale was a key location, Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote her books in various places and during various periods of her life.
