When using in-text citation how do you cite a source when the author has written more than one source?

If an author has written more than one source that is being used in a paper, each source must be cited with the author's name and the year of publication. If both sources were published in the same year, the letters "a" and "b" can be used to distinguish them. When citing a source in the text, follow the below structure:

For a single author:

- (Author, Year)

_Example_: (Smith, 2023)

For two authors:

- (Author 1 & Author 2, Year)

_Example_: (Johnson & Smith, 2023)

For three or more authors:

- (Author 1, Author 2, & Author 3, Year)

_Example_: (Jones, Miller, & Brown, 2023)

For the same author within the same year

- Use a lowercase letter after the year

_Example_: (Smith, 2023a); (Smith, 2023b)
