Where are peter and mama taking the Jews in book number stars?

In "Number the Stars", Peter and Mama are not responsible for taking Jews to safety. The character responsible for helping the Jews escape is Ellen Rosen, who takes the Jews to safety by crossing over to Sweden with them hidden inside a fishing boat. However, Peter still helps Ellen by covering for her when the Nazi soldiers stop her on her way to the boat.
