The general rule for writing numbers in research paper is to use numerals for numbers greater than or equal to 10, and words for numbers less than 10.

- Spell out numbers that begin a sentence.

- Use numerals for measurements and percentages.

- Use words for approximate numbers.

- Use numerals with units of measure.
