When using parenthetical citations for a source would you put the citation right after quote or at end of paragraph?

The citation should come immediately after the quote, before the closing punctuation mark of the sentence. If the quote is at the end of the paragraph, the citation will be at the end of the paragraph as well. But the key is that it follows the quoted material directly.
