* Quasi-experimental research. This type of research is similar to experimental research, but the researcher does not have complete control over the independent variables. For example, a researcher might study the effects of a new educational program by comparing students who participate in the program to students who do not.
* Non-experimental research. This type of research does not involve manipulating any variables. Instead, the researcher observes and records data without trying to influence the outcome. For example, a researcher might observe the behavior of children in a playground to learn more about child development.
