How can you describe war in a poem?

The wind whispers tales of a world turned cold,

Where brothers clash, and stories unfold.

Of steel that sings, a mournful, sharp cry,

And the crimson tide that stains the sky.

The earth, once fertile, now choked with dust,

Where dreams lie broken, and hope is just

A flicker in the hearts of those who fight,

To reclaim their freedom, their day, their light.

From shattered cities, a symphony of pain,

Each fallen soldier, a name in vain.

Mothers weep, their tears like rivers flow,

For sons they loved, now lost in the shadow.

The drums of war, they beat a steady pace,

A relentless rhythm, a chilling embrace.

No peace is found, no solace in the night,

Only endless battles, and endless blight.

But even in the ashes, a seed takes hold,

A fragile hope, a story yet untold.

For love survives, and courage finds its way,

To mend the broken, and bring a brighter day.
