A maiden knelt, her hands in prayer,
Beneath a sky of gentle air.
The sun, a golden coin, did gleam,
Upon a field of verdant dream.
Then, from the heavens, a dove did glide,
With wings of light, a gentle tide.
A voice, like wind through whispering trees,
Spoke words that brought her heart to ease.
"Fear not," it said, "for I am here,
To bring a message, clear and near.
The Holy Spirit shall descend,
A child conceived, your life shall blend."
Her eyes, wide with awe and sweet surprise,
Reflected faith in the azure skies.
"Behold," she breathed, with humble grace,
"The handmaid of the Lord, I embrace."
For in that moment, time stood still,
As God's own will, her being filled.
A promise whispered, a seed was sown,
The dawn of hope, a love unknown.
From Nazareth's humble, quiet space,
A world was changed, by God's embrace.
The annunciation, a whispered word,
A life begun, forever heard.
