Little Finn, a fisherman's son, loved to play by the shore. He'd skip stones and build sandcastles, dreaming of the treasures the sea might hold. One day, a silver fish, shimmering like moonlight, leapt onto the sand before him.
"Little boy," the fish croaked, "I've lost my way. Can you help me return to the sea?"
Finn, his heart pounding, scooped the fish into his hands. "Of course, little fish. I'll guide you back to your home."
He ran to the water's edge and gently released the fish. The silver fish swam a few circles, then darted back to Finn with a tiny, golden shell in its mouth.
"This is for you," the fish said, "a thank you for your kindness."
Finn was delighted. The shell was small, but its inside shimmered like the sun. He held it close to his ear, and heard the faintest whisper, "Thank you." From that day on, whenever Finn felt lost or sad, he'd hold the golden shell and remember the kind silver fish, and know that he was never truly alone.
He learned that kindness, even in small acts, could bring great treasures, not of silver or gold, but of friendship and gratitude.
