What does the rose represent in labyrinth?

In the movie "Labyrinth", Sarah is given a rose by the goblin king Jareth, who uses the rose to represent the innocence of childhood and the passing of time. Sarah is given the rose at the beginning of her journey and instructed to solve puzzles in order to reach the Goblin King's castle before the rose withers. Each time Sarah faces a challenge or temptation, a layer of petals falls off the rose, signifying the loss of innocence and the passing of time.

The rose also serves as a symbol of Sarah's inner power and strength. As the film progresses and Sarah overcomes obstacles, the rose becomes a source of inspiration and hope for her. By protecting and cherishing the rose, Sarah is able to navigate the labyrinth and reclaim her innocence and childhood dreams.
