Kissed the ancient soil, a tale unfolds,
Of founders brave, whose deeds of bold,
Brought forth the city that legends told.
Aeneas, son of Troy, his journey grand,
Fled from the flames, by fate's command.
Seven long years he roamed the wide expanse,
Guided by the gods, through fortune's chance.
At last, the shores of Italy he reached,
Where prophecy revealed the land he sought.
With heart ablaze, a mission he embraced,
To build a city, a legacy unsurpassed.
With comrades faithful, he ventured inland,
Through treacherous paths, and hostile terrain.
They settled by the river, where destiny drew,
And humble huts became the seeds they sow.
As days turned into years, their numbers grew,
And unity, the threads that firmly bound.
Aeneas, the wise, his wisdom imbued,
A city born of trials they'd endured.
The Latins, native to the fertile ground,
Received the Trojans with hearts profound.
King Latinus, just and kind of soul,
Welcomed Aeneas, fostering the whole.
Their union forged, a treaty they made,
Two cultures intertwined, their fates inlaid.
Aeneas wed fair Lavinia, wise,
Strengthening bonds, a hope that never dies.
Yet challenges arose, as wars ignited,
Envy and greed, the embers that ignited.
Turnus, a rival suitor, sought Lavinia's hand,
A clash of passions, a tumultuous stand.
Aeneas, valiant, faced the foes at bay,
In battles fierce, his courage held the sway.
And in the end, the victor he emerged,
His foes defeated, their battles submerged.
A city rising, from the ashes reborn,
Named after Rome, the legacy adorned.
Aeneas ruled, with justice and grace,
His people united, in harmonious embrace.
And so the tale of Rome's foundation spread,
An epic poem, where legends tread.
From Aeneas' voyage, a city grand,
The Eternal City, in the annals it stands.
