What symbolism is used in the poem Night Heron by Judith Wright?

The night heron is primarily used to symbolize the poet herself, who feels out of place and uncomfortable in the noisy, bustling world around her. The heron is also a symbol of wisdom, solitude and the mystery of nature. Additionally, the poem uses numerous other symbolisms such as the sun representing hope, the moon representing mystery and the stars representing eternity.
