How many diaries did Anne fill during the war?
Anne Frank filled three complete diaries during the war, and started on a fourth. The first diary, which Anne received on her 13th birthday in June 1942, was a red and white checkered notebook. She filled this diary until September 1942. The second diary was a brown and white school exercise book, which she started on December 21, 1942 and continued until October 1, 1943. The third diary, which was bound with checkered cloth, she wrote in from November 16, 1943 until August 1, 1944. On August 1, 1944 she started writing on loose sheets of paper, which were found scattered on the attic floor after the family were arrested.
