Bella never wanted to become a vampire. In fact, she was initially terrified of the idea of becoming one. However, as she fell in love with Edward Cullen and learned more about the vampire world, she began to see the potential benefits of becoming a vampire herself. Ultimately, she chose to become a vampire in order to be with Edward and to protect her daughter, Renesmee.
