Who is the first LGBT superhero?

The first openly LGBT superhero is Northstar, a Canadian mutant with the power of super speed and flight, who first appeared in the comic book _Alpha Flight_ #106 in 1983. Northstar was revealed to be gay in a 1992 issue of _Alpha Flight_, becoming one of the first superheroes in mainstream comics to be openly LGBT.
